Arabian Nights: Sinbad's Adventures
Arabian Nights: Sinbad's Adventures a 52 episode animated series directed by Fumio Kurokawa and produced by Nippon Animation which was first aired in 1975. The story is based on the children story "Sinbad the Sailor". Sinbad - The hero of the series. Sinbad is a young boy from Baghdad whom decided to be adventurous as his uncle in order to became known as an adventurer and a merchant. Yasmina - A speaking bird given to Sinbad by his sea-faring uncle. It later turns out that she is actually a princess cursed into the form of a bird by a malevolent sorcerer. Ali Baba - A good friend of Sinbad and Aladdin. A former desert raider and daring adventurer who joins Sinbad on his adventures. He is very good with using ropes. Aladdin - A good friend of Sinbad and Ali Baba. A wise and eldery man who joins Sinbad adventures. Hassan - A poor young street boy who is Sinbad's best friend in Bagdad, despite his low social status. Throughout the series Sinbad journeys to different destinations together with Yasmina and his friends They encounter a number of strange creatures, including a giant bird, gigantic snakes, mermaids, genies, Lilliputians, and hostile magicians. He also meets several other characters featured in Arabian Nights, including the Forty Thieves.
